Overview

JavaScript is a programming language created by Brendan Eich in 1995. Initially it brought pages to life in the browser, but over time it grew into a full-fledged general-purpose language used for both the client and server side of applications.

With Node.js, JavaScript moved beyond the browser and became a fullstack tool. We use it together with TypeScript for React and Next.js interfaces and for Node.js backends — one language across the stack speeds up development.
